Dates and things to remember for the Poudre School District :

• Your child must by 5 years old on or before September 15, 2006.
• Kindergarten Registration February 9^th.
• School of Choice Application is due before February 10, 2006.
• If you do not know what your neighborhood school is, go to www.psdschools.org and look under “Schools” then under “School Locator” or call 970-490-3232.
• Plan to visit your school before school starts to meet teachers, ask questions, and learn more about the curriculum, enrichment, etc. Call you school in early January to see when they have their information Open House for incoming Kindergartners.
• Register your child as soon as possible at the school your child will be attending. Bring your child’s birth certificate, Social Security number, emergency contact information, and immunization records.

This packet includes: Schools Directory, calendar, Kindergarten brochure, Curriculum Guide, Educational Choices, copies of Connect, possibly others.

  If you live in the Thompson School District:

• Your child must be 5 years old on or before October 1^st, 2006
• Early Kindergarten Registration is March 29^th.
• If you wish to attend a school other that your neighborhood school, pick up a Transfer Request Form at the district office or at the school you wish to have your child attend. There is no deadline, however, the sooner the better. Most schools will not know what their attendance will be until late spring or summer. At this point you will be contacted. Transfers are based on availability of space in that particular school. Your child will be accepted only if there is room.
• Contact the neighborhood school and the school you wish to transfer to, and find out when they are planning their Kindergarten Open House- suggest you call end of January or first part of February.
• Register your child as soon as possible at the school your child will be attending. Bring your child’s birth certificate, Social Security number, emergency contact information, and immunization records.
