Childcare Information

Our Childcare Mission

Mothers’ Center of Fort Collins Child Care mission is to provide care for your child or children in a fun, nurturing, safe environment so that you can enjoy programs offered by the Mothers’ Center.

Childcare Guidelines

Please sign your child in completely: check-in sheet, name tag, label all personal items with child’s name.

No childcare is offered for children until they are six months of age and sitting up well.

Children of all ages may accompany moms to programs at the Mothers’ Center. If children in your care become disruptive, please remove them until they are comfortable to return.

Children sometimes cry.  If we cannot comfort your child in 5 - 10 minutes, we will bring him to you. We will make every effort to make separation a positive experience for mom and child.

Please write down on the check-in sheet of any special needs your child has- e.g.  allergies or potty training needs.

Before leaving your child in the nursery, please make sure your child has on a dry diaper.  If your child has a soiled diaper while in childcare, workers will attend to his/her needs.

Please label all of your childs personal item to be left in the nursery-diper bags, sippy cups, clothing, comfort toy/blanket,  etc. We are not responsible for items brought from home.

When children are divided into groups, infants will remain in the nursery.  We will go outside when weather AND staffing permits. Dress your child appropriately – coats, sunscreen, proper shoes, etc..

Your child will be given apple juice and graham crackers unless you specify otherwise.  Please do not bring other food into childcare. Exceptions can be made for children with allergies.

Aggressive play, particularly gun play, is not encouraged.  We will redirect children to another activity. If discipline issues develop, they will be handled as follows:

(1) We encourage the “victim” to use his own words to tell the other child he doesn’t like the behavior.

(2) We redirect the child to another activity.

(3) We give two or three time-outs, two minutes maximum, with the chance to try again.

(4) If the problem persists, we assume the child is unhappy in childcare and return him to his mom.  The child will be welcomed back when he feels ready.

Please make every effort to get acquainted with the childcare workers.

The Mothers’ Center will provide a minimum of two childcare workers or Mothers’ Center members in the nursery to supervise your child(ren).  If two workers/members are not available, childcare will be cancelled for the day or members from the meeting/event will have the option of volunteering their time in exchange for MC dollars.

Moms are encouraged to bring their concerns directly to childcare contact, not with the childcare workers.  Child Care Contact is:  Mo Ryerson, Phone - 226-0109.

We reserve the right to decline childcare to any child.
